On the weekend of November 12th, three North School students were honored by the IAEA at a special awards ceremony and reception in St Charles, Illinois. It was such a delight to have the students with their families supporting them be recognized for their creativity and hard work. Mrs. Allan’s heart was so full! If you see these students around town, please congratulate them. The artists being recognized were Alejandra Navarrete in 2nd, Kristy DeLaTorre in 4th, and Andrew Siebert in 5th.

Navarrete had artwork chosen for the 2D/3D Art Showcase, where judges chose just 45 artworks out of 520 pieces submitted by K-12 art teachers from around the state. Navarrete’s framed artwork will now travel with the other state winners to different locations throughout Illinois for the 2022-23 school year. DeLaTorre and Siebert’s works were chosen for the 2022-23 statewide Illinois Animation Showcase. Kristy & Andrew’s animations will be displayed on the IAEA website for the 2022-23 school year. Way to go, Penguin artists!
